It is not surprising that many are interested in the possibility of obtaining a residence permit in Bulgaria for the purpose of emigration.

That gives a residence permit?

On what grounds can obtain a residence permit in Bulgaria?
To get a residence permit on the basis of:
- family reunification;
- study;
- employment official permission of the employment Agency or international Treaty;
- open a trading representative office;
- long-term treatment;
- marriage to a citizen of the Republic of Belarus;
- large investment;
- moving for permanent residence under the program “for pensioners”.
The Bulgarian citizen or a foreigner with status of residence permit is entitled to carry into the country family members: spouse, children, brother, sister.
How to obtain a residence permit under the family reunion?The first step — getting from the Migration service permission to family reunification. For this you need to confirm close relationship with those with whom you want to reconnect and issue a sponsorship letter stating that you agree to contain.
After receiving permission, you must apply for a visa, to register at the place of residence in the Republic of Belarus and submit for a residence permit based on family reunification.
The following documents are required:
- The application for reunification;
- Notarized guarantee of the availability of funds to support the families in Bulgaria;
- Photocopy of passports of family members with whom you want to reunite;
- Documents on housing (own or rented);
- Certified and legalized certificate of existence/absence of criminal record;
- Marriage certificate (for spouse) or birth (for a child).
The Law on foreigners States that admission to the local UNIVERSITY on a fee basis entitles you to a residence permit.
How to get?After arriving in the country on a D visa, you must obtain permission from the Ministry of education of Bulgaria, where it is necessary to submit the following documents:
- a certificate or diploma;
- notarized photocopy of the passport;
- medical book;
- academic certificate of the number of listening hours;
- consent from the legal representatives of the student tuition;
- statement of account in a Bulgarian Bank on the cash balance;
- documents registration;
- photo.
Then with the permission from the Ministry of education, you should prepare the following documents for residence permit obtaining:
- passport (including a copy);
- a visa application form;
- 2 photos;
- medical insurance;
- receipt for the balance money in the account in a Bulgarian Bank;
- certificate of conviction;
- documents confirming the availability of accommodation.

To obtain a residence permit based on employment in Bulgaria, the employer must request authorization from the National Agency of employment, providing:

Foreigners entitled to a pension (no matter on what basis) and having on the account in a Bulgarian Bank with a minimum amount of 3,000€, as well as provided with housing (owned or rented) are eligible for a registration permit.

- a passport with validity at least 18 months + copy of first page with photo, with type D visa and stamp of last entry to Bulgaria;
- the notarial deed to their own homes or rental agreement;
- a notarised copy of the pension certificate (with translation into Bulgarian translation and legalization);
- a photocopy of certificates received pension for the last three months (with translation and legalization);
- the certificate of no criminal record;
- extract from the Bulgarian Bank, confirming the availability of funds in the amount of 12 minimum pensions in the Republic of Bulgaria;
- medical insurance with a coverage amount of 30 000€;
- receipt of payment of fees for the consideration of the application at the Directorate of Migration.
The spouse of a citizen of Bulgaria has the right to obtain a residence permit on the basis of certificate of marriage.
The stages of designAfter obtaining a visa D at the Bulgarian Embassy at the place of residence, it is necessary to arrive in the country and apply for Immigration the following documents:
- the application for a residence permit;
- passport (original + photocopy);
- marriage certificate;
- a notarized paper is confirming that the wife money and property;
- the mandatory health insurance policy with validity of more than 1 year;
- certificate of conviction.

To obtain a residence permit if you buy real estate in Bulgaria in the amount of 300 000€ in the framework of the program “Golden visa” or own at least 51% of the shares of a Bulgarian company, which inhave vetiroval in Bulgarian real estate with total amount of 300 000€.
This is one of the most common method of legalization in Bulgaria.
Step # 1 — Registration of trade representative offices.First, you need to prove that the parent firm operated in the past year. Fit one of the following documents (it should have a stamp and notarized signature of the supervisor):
- a copy of the report on receipts/expenditure and balance sheet;
- Declaration from the BCCI with information about the activities of the company;
- the Declaration with the electronic address of accounting data in English.
Secondly, you need to confirm the payment of her taxes, by providing a certificate from tax inspection about absence of debts (with translation into Bulgarian and legalized).
Third, you need to prepare a work-plan sales offices for the current and subsequent year. It must be translated into Bulgarian language and notarized signature of the head of the parent company.
Fourth, we require a copy of the lease of office space or a notarial deed confirming the availability of real estate for office.
Step # 2 — Entering the TP in the BULSTAT register.Within 7 days after check TP in the chamber of Commerce register in the BULSTAT.

The cost of registration permit

- the residence permit — 100€ for six months or 250€ per year;
- obtaining a personal card 22€ for 1 month, 45€ for 10 days 110€ 3 days;
- registration of the residence permit on the basis of the trade mission — from 580€.
How to extend a residence permit in 2020?
While maintaining the grounds for obtaining a residence permit, you must pay the state fee in the amount of 5€ and submit to the Migration service at the place of residence the same documents as the initial qualification status.
To apply for the renewal of status of residence permit required 14 calendar or 10 business days prior to the expiration of the current certificate of residence permit. For violation of the terms of the extension of residence permit a residence permit you will have to pay a penalty of 25€.
