According to the Central Bank of Bulgaria (BNB) the number of mortgage loans in December 2014 increased markedly. During this period, the total amount of mortgage loans issued by commercial banks reached a record value 88,026 million euros. The increase in absolute terms in comparison with similar indicators for 2013 and 2012 amounted to $ 17,391 million and € 49,20 million euros, or in relative terms of 24.6% and 39.9%, respectively.
One of the reasons for the increased demand for mortgage loans has been a decline in interest rates on loans in Euro, the amount of which in December 2014 reached 6.7% per annum. The other factor, have stepped up a Bulgarian mortgage, was the growth of prices in the property market, which has spurred local and foreign investors to actively buy liquid housing.
