According to a recent study, more and more Russians interested in purchasing property abroad, and the most preferred area for investment is Bulgaria.
On the background of events in Ukraine and the sharp devaluation of the ruble, in 2015-2016 there had been a decrease in the demand for overseas property. However, in the period from 2016 to 2018, the situation has changed - the popularity of real estate abroad increased again.
Experts attribute the growth in demand with the tightening of Western sanctions, raising the retirement age, the rumors about the refusal of Russia to carry out international payments in dollars available mortgage rates.
Although in 2018, only 2.5% of Russians were ready to buy a house or apartment abroad, but it's 70% more than in 2016. These figures leads the Moscow financial University on the basis of the survey. As said the Vice-President of the University Alexey Prong, the growth in demand shows the desire of Russians to save on foreign investment in "squares".
The Bulgarian remains a favoured direction for the citizens of Russia. Followed by Spain, Turkey, Cyprus and Montenegro.
Most of those who want to buy property among the residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, and Sochi, Vladivostok and Perm.
