According to the Bulgarian National Bank, Russians ranked first in investment in Bulgarian property. In the first three months of the year, Russian citizens invested more than 2.2 million euros, or 23.65% of total investment. Norwegians bought homes worth 1.4 million euros (15%), while US and German citizens invested 1 million euros (10.8%).
Foreign investment in property in the first quarter of 2016 fell by 41% compared with the corresponding period of 2015. Total foreign direct investment declined by 36.6% to 371.3 million euros in the first quarter of 2016.
