On April 29, on the website of the Ministry of Health of Bulgaria, decree No. RD-01-278 was published regarding new conditions and rules for entering the territory of the republic from May 1 to May 31, 2021.
Here is the basic information for citizens of the Russian Federation and the CIS countries. You can read the full text of the decree in Bulgarian here.
Citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova can enter Bulgaria from May 1, 2021, upon presenting one of the following medical documents:
1) PCR test for COVID-19 with a negative result, carried out no more than 72 hours before entering Bulgaria or negative rapid antibody test, made 48 hours before entry.
The document must be indicated in Latin:
- name in accordance with the passport;
- details of the medical institution that conducted the examination (name, address or other contact details);
- the date the test was taken;
- negative result in Latin (Negative), allowing it to be interpreted.
2) Positive PCR test for coronavirus or rapid antibody test (must be done 15-180 days before arrival).
3) Vaccination Completed Certificate.
Must have elapsed at least 14 days from the date of the last dose. The certificate must indicate:
- the owner's name in Latin (as indicated in the passport with which he will enter Bulgaria);
- the dates of the vaccine doses;

- наименование производителя или владельца регистрационного удостоверения, а также страну и название компетентного органа, выдавшую его.

When will flights from Russia to Bulgaria resume?
The head of the headquarters for the fight against coronavirus in the Russian Federation, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova signed an order to the Russian departments to give, by May 11, 2021, an assessment of the possibility of restoring regular flights with 20 countries, incl. with Bulgaria. In addition, the Russian authorities are thinking about expanding the list of airports from which citizens of the Russian Federation will be able to fly abroad. Although no specific decisions have been made yet, experts hope that several charter flights will be launched very soon.
It is known that on behalf of the Minister of Tourism Marijana Nikolova, the Bulgarian Embassy in Moscow will organize a meeting with tour operators, at which, among others, the issue of simplifying the procedure for issuing Bulgarian visas to tourists from Russia will be discussed.

- checkpoint on the border of the port of Burgas and Varna;
- border checkpoint Vidin, Vrashka-Chuka, Durankulak, Gyueshevo, Ilinden, Kalotina, Captain Andreevo, Captain Petko Voevoda, Kulata, Lesovo, Makaza, Malko Tarnovo, Oryakhovo, Ruse, Somovit-Nikopol.
