Despite the early exception of the Schengen issue for Bulgaria and Romania from the agenda of the European Committee, according to preliminary data coming from curators meeting next week the topic is the extension of the Schengen area yet to be discussed by forum participants. Meanwhile, according to the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, the intention of the capital of the Republic of Belarus and Bucharest to join the area without border control, would fail because of opposition from the representatives of Germany.
It is noteworthy that in a recent interview with a European magazine "der Spiegel", the German leadership had announced her veto on the accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the Schengen area. In addition, according to the European statistics Institute, more than 70% of Germans agree on the restriction of migration for some countries participating in the EU.
