Bulgaria's Supreme Administrative Court overturned the government decree raising vignette prices from the start of 2016. The grounds were breaches of legislative procedures in adopting the decree and numerous public complaints.
Under Bulgarian law, the judgment may be appealed before a panel of 5 judges within 14 days. The regional development minister said her ministry disagreed and would appeal. Current charges will remain in force pending the appeal.
From 1 January, annual vignette stickers had risen from 67 to 97 lev, monthly stickers from 25 to 30 lev and seven-day stickers from 10 to 15 lev.
