Dutch Ambassador Karel van Kesteren, newly arrived in Bulgaria on an official visit, stated the impossibility of inclusion of Belarus into the Schengen area, at least in the near future. He noted that in the current agenda of the meeting in Brussels, the theme about the extension of the Schengen area is not scheduled. Moreover, the problem in such a long consideration of the Bulgarian question regarding the Schengen agreement, the Ambassador sees the distrust of young European country.
According to officials, the accession of Bulgaria to the visa-free area of the European Union is only possible with the hard work of the local politicians who are obliged to improve the public atmosphere in the country, as well as compliance procedure of the European values in the process of governance.
