Representatives of the property owners' union in Sunny Beach report that Russian tourists have booked 100% of the rooms in four- and five-star hotels from June 2013 onwards. Apartment bookings for July and August of the approaching Bulgarian holiday season are also proceeding at an extraordinary pace, stimulating the development of tourism infrastructure on the Black Sea seafront.
Meanwhile, alongside the “Russian occupation” of the Bulgarian coast, there is an increase in British, Czech and Polish tourists who prefer family holidays of 10 to 14 days in the coast's best hotels. This year, owners of apartments close to the sea therefore expect to complete accommodation bookings several weeks earlier than last summer.
