Kavarna

Sunny Beach

Sunny Beach is the largest resort on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast, with a wide choice of hotels and a long sandy beach.

The resort offers modern entertainment and easy access to the historic town of Nessebar.

Velingrad

Velingrad is known for its mineral springs, spa hotels and mountain air. The surrounding Rhodope landscape and nearby Yundola area also attract hikers and winter visitors.

Aheloy

Aheloy is a small coastal town at the mouth of the Aheloy River. New hotels and residential developments have appeared as the area has grown in popularity.

Ahtopol

Ahtopol is a quiet town on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast, about 14 kilometres from the Turkish border. Fishing, small-scale agriculture and a relaxed seaside atmosphere remain part of local life.

Bansko

Bansko is a well-known ski town at the foot of the Pirin Mountains, close to Pirin National Park. It combines winter tourism, a historic old town and a substantial market for holiday property.

Byala

Byala lies about 50 kilometres south of Varna. The town is known for its coastal cliffs, beaches and long history, with Obzor and the Kamchia area within reach.

Elenite

Elenite is a compact resort village with hotels, restaurants, sports facilities and a marina nearby. Its position between the Balkan foothills and the sea gives it a sheltered setting.

Evksinograd

Euxinograd is a historic royal residence and landscaped park on the coast near Varna. The estate hosts official events, and guided visits may be available at specified times.

Kamchia

Kamchia is a coastal area south of Varna, known for the Kamchia River and the protected longoz forest. Visitors come for the beach, river trips, wildlife and fishing.

The area also has a small market for holiday homes and apartments.

Kiten

Kiten is a compact resort with sandy beaches, restaurants and a range of summer activities. It attracts both Bulgarian and international visitors.

Kosharitsa

Kosharitsa is a quiet village in the hills behind Sunny Beach. The area has no major industry and combines traditional rural life with newer neighbourhoods of houses and villas.

Kranevo

Kranevo is a developing seaside village with a long sandy beach, shallow water, shops, cafés and restaurants. It also hosts sports camps and cultural events and offers villas, houses and modern apartments.

Lozenets

Lozenets is a small seaside village with several sandy beaches. The Ropotamo nature area and the historic town of Sozopol are nearby, while local property ranges from simple apartments to higher-end villas.

Plovdiv

Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria.

It is a major cultural, educational and industrial centre, with universities, churches, mosques and many historic buildings.

The Maritsa River runs through the city, which preserves extensive Roman, Ottoman and Bulgarian National Revival heritage.

The spa town of Hisarya and several mineral-spring destinations are within reach of Plovdiv.

Ravda

Ravda is a seaside village close to Nessebar and Sunny Beach. Its beaches and quieter atmosphere make it popular with families, and summer programmes for children are available.

Ravda is smaller than the neighbouring resorts but still has hotels, restaurants and access to a water park. Apartments and villas have been built close to the coast.

Sofia

Sofia is Bulgaria's capital and largest business centre. It combines modern commercial districts with extensive Roman, medieval and 20th-century heritage, while Vitosha Mountain lies just outside the city.

The property market includes new developments and resale homes in both central and suburban districts.

Sveti Vlas

Sveti Vlas is a well-developed resort with a quieter atmosphere than Sunny Beach.

It has a marina, promenade, restaurants and several maintained beaches, with the Balkan foothills rising behind the town.

Coastal apartment developments and villas are available for rent and purchase.

Albena

Albena is a purpose-built Black Sea resort beside the Baltata nature reserve and the Batova River. It is known for its wide beach, hotels, sports facilities and family-oriented summer services.

Balchik

Balchik is a historic town on Bulgaria's north-eastern coast. Its best-known sights are the seaside palace built for Queen Marie of Romania and the adjoining botanical garden.

Burgas

Burgas is a major tourist, economic and cultural centre on the southern coast.

It is Bulgaria's fourth-largest city by population.

Its seafront, services and business infrastructure attract visitors throughout the year.

Burgas is also an important transport hub, with an airport, railway station and long-distance bus services.

The city lies between the Black Sea and three coastal lakes.

Varna

Varna, often called Bulgaria's maritime capital, is the country's third-largest city and an important tourism, education and business centre.

Varna Airport serves scheduled and seasonal international routes; destinations change by season.

Local attractions include the Sea Garden, Dolphinarium, aquarium, archaeological museum, Dormition of the Mother of God Cathedral and Aladzha Monastery outside the city.

Golden Sands

Golden Sands is one of Bulgaria's best-known seaside resorts. Its long sandy beach, hotels and summer entertainment attract large numbers of visitors.

The resort borders Golden Sands Nature Park and is also associated with mineral springs and spa facilities.

Nearby attractions include Aladzha Monastery, while Aquapolis is one of the resort's main family attractions.

Pomorie

Pomorie is known for its salt lake, therapeutic mud treatments and long wine-making tradition.

Sinemorets

Sinemorets is one of Bulgaria's southernmost Black Sea villages, close to the Turkish border.

The village lies within Strandzha Nature Park and is known for its dramatic coastline, wildlife and sandy beaches.

Sinemorets has fewer large entertainment venues and nightclubs than the major resorts.

Outdoor activities include hiking, cycling, fishing, boating and diving.

Tsarevo

Tsarevo is a coastal town in southern Bulgaria, not far from the Turkish border. Its rugged shoreline forms several bays, and Strandzha Nature Park and the Silkosia reserve are nearby.

Tsarevo lies on the main coastal road and has bus connections to larger Bulgarian cities.

St. Constantine and Elena

Sts Constantine and Helena is a resort near Varna known for its beaches, landscaped grounds and mineral springs.

The resort has spa centres, playgrounds, restaurants and a range of modern hotels.

Villas and modern apartments are popular with both Bulgarian and international buyers.
