European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in an interview with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov expressed confidence that Bulgaria and Romania will receive a long-awaited EU membership.
At a press conference Jean-Claude Juncker said Bulgaria is ready to join Schengen. Also the head of the Commission stressed that it is ready to support the application of Bulgaria for transition to the Euro, if such application would follow.
The head of the European Commission has not announced the specific timing of the accession to the Schengen area, as this largely depends on concrete steps by the Bulgarian government and the consent of all EU member States.
